BOOK ART
January 28, 2015

January book review time...I hope your month has been enjoyable. Ours has been blanketed with beautiful, soft snow...cold, but very picturesque.
My book for January is pure magic! Part fantasy, part adventure coupled with an unusual display of old photos, this is a story that will appeal to teens as well as adults...MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN!
The story is told through the eyes of 16 year old Jacob, a boy who grew up on his grandfather's seemingly fantastic stories of his youth and the children's' home where he spent his childhood. But as Jacob grew older, he stopped believing in the validity of those stories...until he sees something unbelievable when his grandfather is murdered. Because the people around Jacob question his mental stability when he tries to explain what he saw, his father takes him to an island  off the coast of Wales where his grandfather spent his "magical years..." to try to help him reconcile the truth from fantasy. THIS is where the REAL magic begins.
Enthralling, magical, spooky and wonderful, this is definitely one of the most original and captivating books I've  read in a very long time. Suspend your sense of reality and READ IT!!

  1. I loved this book, and it's sequel (Hollow City) and am eagerly waiting for the third. I also love the illustration you made for it.
