HOLIDAY TIME and New Challenges
December 30, 2014

Happy New Year, Dear Ones. I hope your holidays were jolly days, filled with smiles and love...and some good presence (no mistake) as well! Wishing that 2015 brings you a happy, fulfilled heart...

Challenges first...Darcy Wilkinson, one of my most creative cyber friends and creator of the ART AND SOLE BLOG, has initiated a new challenge for those artists who choose to participate. It involves purchasing a calendar with monthly pictures and altering each month's picture according to the technique that Darcy requires. For January, we must create a crackling effect and include some book text while maintaining SOME of our original image. Here's my art for Vincent Van Gogh's POSTMAN...
Another challenge that Darcy created two years ago (and I've kept up) is her ARTFUL READERS CLUB group, now on FaceBook. Participants review a book each month and produce a piece of art representative of that book. My book this month... THE EXPECTED ONE by Kathleen McGowan. My review and art look like this...
Finally, the holidays!! We spent most of our holiday in Quebec City...a beautiful (and freeeezing cold destination in Canada...)
and Christmas Eve and Day with our daughter and her family.
I'd like to share some Quebec City photos with you... it's very European in atmosphere and most of the people speak French as their first language...(a wonderful opportunity for me to practice my French language skills!) Some days were cloudy, some snowy...all required long underwear!!
Our hotel...the Chateau Frontenac...built in the late 1800's, was the residence of the British colonial governors of Lower Canada and Quebec. Now, it's one of the most photographed hotels in the world...very scenic, overlooking the St. Lawrence River.

We look forward to seeing Quebec City during its spring or summer blossoming...very historic and very beautiful!
Once again, Happy New Year to you and yours from me. Please join me for the next posting...

Big Holiday Hugs,
