WOMAN'S HISTORY MONTH
March 6, 2013
Sometimes, a missed opportunity opens another! (for INSPIRATION AVENUE'S "Show and Tell"...Long Walk Home) |
Hi Dear Ones... and a Happy Woman's History Month to you! In my art challenges this week, I tried to use womens' images... CRAZY AMIGO CHALLENGE actually asked participants to include a woman in their art...CREAVIL-CHALLENGE BLOG asked for a Middle Ages theme...I combined the two to create a woman at market during the time of the Middle Ages, as if in a book in the style of the time...
INSPIRATION AVENUE's "Show and Tell" theme inspired me to create two pieces...the one at the start of the blog (the 6-word Memoir) and the piece below...not woman-related, but rather SPRING-related as our snow days this week have dwindled!
The THINK MONDAY-THINK ATC group requested art that was Leonardo DaVinci-related. I chose to work on his women...
Finally, FLICKER's DIGITALMANIA challenged its participants to create a piece of art in the style of Lynne Perrella...if you don't know her, you can find her here... her style is fun and many layered...often brightly colored! Here's my piece inspired by Lynne... I call it "Man in the City."
Hope to see you next posting...
Hugs,
abbyj
Wonderful digital creations again. Thanks for sharing with us at Creavil.
ReplyDeleteGreat images, as always. Your "memoir" gives a positive spin to the man on the tracks. The illustrated page could have been found in a medieval manuscript. The bird is a much needed lovely harbinger of spring. I love the way the DaVinci women blend into their background. Love the joyful colors of the Perella piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing your beautiful middleage-artwork for creavil.

Another great post, Abby. I really look forward to visiting your blog.xx
ReplyDeleteI am stunned by the diversity of the images you've created this week. I am especially drawn to the one using Leonardo's portraits. Your use of texture and color is beautiful. The birdsong is a pleasant ode to spring and the colors in your work are stunning. Thank you for joining us at Inspiration Avenue for Show and Tell this week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog and beautiful and inspiring art. I am so glad that I found your blog. 'Long walk home' is amazing, truly amazing. Thank you for sharing and for your words full of love as well.
ReplyDeleteWas drawn here by the Long Walk Home - very evocative image. Lingered for all the other amazing work. Your work has a real voice.
