Crazy robin looking for her eggs... |
I have an odd story for you...We spent a long weekend visiting with our daughter and her family. From the time we got there until the time I left (I stayed on a couple of extra days...) there was a constant knocking on the downstairs kitchen windows. We heard it from the rising of the sun, through the days and through the evenings. Peeking out of the shutters to see what was making the noise, we saw a robin...(the one above...) the SAME robin each time. It was as though she was speaking to us, trying desperately to get our attention...tell us something! Once she had it and we were looking at her, eye-to-eye, she'd cock her head, hold our gazes for a while, then jump down to the ground...only to fly up to the window sill again and do the same thing. We had a family discussion about her and why she could be doing this (making an awful mess of the windows, I might add...) and the only explanation that made sense was that she'd lost her eggs and thought perhaps we had them inside OUR big nest! What say YOU? Any bird lovers out there with any other thoughts? It's really puzzling...still!!!
Responding to a few blog art challenges this week...for CREAVIL CHALLENGE BLOG (creepy crawlers) and INSPIRATION AVENUE (blossom,) I combined both into the art below...

Sorry, I have no idea about the robin. I love the book backing for your insect and blossom piece. The Recife pieces are intriguing.
ReplyDeleteYou've created wonderful pages, they are all great. Thanks for joining us at Creavil.
ReplyDeleteWow, I've no idea why a robin would be knocking at your window! I used to live in a flat with a skylight in the ceiling of the kitchen, and crows would land and drop tiny stones onto it for no reason I could work out.. other than it made a lot of noise!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture you put together with the robin's photograph - it's great that it has such a sweet and intriguing story attached!
Wow. I have no idea why that robin acted the way she did. Perhaps she thought your big house was pretentious compared to her tidy tiny nest? Or she was bragging because her eggs are prettier? Your play on Eduardo Recife was lots of fun to look at. I enjoyed that challenge a lot. Thanks for sharing with us over at IA.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing your beautiful ladybugs for paperminutes!!!
