THIS WEEK: Sabine Spiesser
August 21, 2013
Hi Dear Ones,
I hope your week is going well and that you're enjoying the last bits of whatever season you're experiencing...for me, it's summer. I'm looking forward Central New York's most beautiful season, Fall!!
From Flicker's art group, DIGITALMANIA, here's the artist who inspired me this week: born and raised in Angola, Africa, Sabine Spiesser is a self-taught digital artist who uses imagery from her immediate surroundings, experimentation, and doodling to make her art. Using a camera is an important part of her art, too...I can identify with that!
You can see some of Sabine's art here. I had a great time creating two pieces in her style...the first is based on a photo I took in Northern Ethiopia's Jerusalem-like city of Lalibela. This is the size of a postcard and that's exactly what challenge blog INSPIRATION AVENUE requested this week, so this piece will do double duty!!
Still in Sabine's style, this one is based on a photo I took in the Kingdom of Bhutan near one of their monasteries...

As for this week's challenge blog pieces, TAKE A WORD requested art with warm colors...I really enjoyed this challenge. The little musician below is our grandson when he was 2... he's an avid trumpeter and coronet player still;
and here's one more with warm colors...
Finally, COLLAGE OBSESSION didn't care what we did as long as it contained the color purple...
Hope you enjoy your weekend and will join me next week for August's ARTFUL READER CLUB book review and art piece. The book is Nelson DeMille's THE PANTHER.
Hugs,
abbyj
Beautiful art!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour collage are superb as always I love the wonderful colors you use...well done.
ReplyDeleteAll of them are awesome. I love visiting your blog!
ReplyDeleteWonderful. I like the person walking his chicken on a leash. Good sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteYour digital art pieces are amazing. They look more like a one-piece painting rather than assembled from different elements. Wonderful. Love both the warm colours pieces - my grandson also played the cornet from a young age, but I think his playing has been lost under long stressful hours of work ... Perhaps he should bring the warmth of music back into his life! What I like about your purple piece is that it is not completely purple but contrasts so well with the other colours. A nice piece.
ReplyDeleteThey all are so creative and beautiful, love your art.
ReplyDeleteLove your different creations, all are gorgeous and full of life with vibrant colors.
ReplyDeleteHugs Anja
