Inspired by the snow... |
Hi Dear Ones,
It's finally winter here in Central New York. It's beyond beautiful...school was cancelled for a couple of days and slopes for sledding, snowboarding and skiing are very busy! Rosy cheeks prevail! :)
I've played with some art challenges over the last few days...
For THE THREE MUSES, I tried to show what scares me in my life... PUBLIC SPEAKING has always been a fear (which is strange since I produced TV documentaries and conducted interviews on camera for the length of my career,)
and a more recent fear is thinking how many more years I'll be fit and able to do the kind of adventure travel that my husband and I love...aging is NOT for the weak of heart or limb!!
I think this piece of art also qualifies for TAKE A WORD's challenge for the use of an unusual frame.
DEZINAWORLD15 is a new art challenge blog for me. They asked for a piece of art with wildflowers...a nice change from the white blanket I see outside.
SUNDAY POSTCARD ART was looking for the man in the moon...my man in the moon is on his way home!
The man in the moon is also appropriate for this week's DIGITALMANIA challenge where we were introduced to Irish surrealist, quirky artist, Jimmy Lawlor. Here are couple of his pieces...
and here are my pieces inspired by Lawlor...
That's it for now. Hope you have a restful and happy weekend coming up, ready and refreshed for the week that follows!!
Thanks for stopping by.
Big Hugs,

Busy artist, and some lovely and silly pieces. Love the winter girl and the underwater guy!
ReplyDeleteYour artwork is always beautiful and always interesting. I can relate to you fear of public speaking ugh...I especially love your frame picture it is bold and gorgeous. Have a great week and good luck with the snow storm.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the snow piece and the hands on the cane. I totally understand worrying about being able to travel - I sure don't see you slowing down any time soon.
ReplyDeleteThese are great pieces! I really like what you created with the under water guy and cloud stepping. Good ole public speaking fear. I can relate to that one too.
ReplyDeleteall of your pieces are so beautiful! the girl in the snow is so wistful and lovely. xo
ReplyDeleteGreat mix of pieces again, Abby! (I might finally be getting some snow here on coastal Connecticut from the incoming storm.)
ReplyDeleteFabulous inspirational pieces, I love the field of wild flowers, it cheers up a cold day.

ReplyDeleteAbby, another feast for my eyes!Love all of them!As Lori, your art is inspiring!
ReplyDeleteWell HELLO Abby! Long time no see. I am playing in Dezinaworld's Cheeky Challenge and coming around to cheer on the entries. I think I am the only one who plays and doesn't do digital, haha, but you know me! Anyway, very pretty wildflower piece you have made, as are all the others. Hope you are all snuggled in up there - just remember all the awesome Irving Berlin et al songs about snow in the Northeast - it used to be the norm and what comes around yadayada. Looks like old is new again! Hugs to you! xoxo, Aimeslee
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your man on the moon card, so much fun!
